LifeSavers, Inc. of Fairfield, New Jersey Chosen by New Jersey to Provide Defibrillators
Lifesavers, Inc. Quality Products and Training Offer High Levels of Technological Sophistication & Consumer-friendliness – Two Crucial Elements for Public-use Emergency Medical Devices
LifeSavers, Inc., a New Jersey based company, founded over 25 years ago provides emergency medical response products and training to all New Jersey schools, businesses, the public sector, and other organizations nationwide. LifeSavers, Inc, has signed a three-year contract with the state of New Jersey to provide Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) and related services to state agencies. The agreement applies to cooperative purchasing from schools, local police and fire departments and municipal government bodies.
For AEDs, which may be used by untrained laymen in high-stress, often life-or-death situations, two crucial attributes are user simplicity and patient effectiveness. LifeSavers, Inc.’s LIFELINE range of AEDs are compact, lightweight devices that offer clear audio and/or visual directions to users; the company’s newest model, the LIFELINE VIEW, is the only AED on the market with a motion picture screen that provides real-time instructions to users. The sophisticated LIFELINE range of AEDs are available in both semi- and fully-automatic models. The units employ advanced biphasic technology that adjusts shock delivery levels based on a distressed person’s individual needs, relieving the person using the AED of a decision most are unqualified to make.
LifeSavers will be responsible for providing AED device training to purchasers like New Jersey school systems and their staff. The company operates the largest American Heart Association training center in New Jersey.
New Jersey has some of the strongest safety laws in the nation regarding Automated External Defibrillators, mandating that facilities including public school buildings, assisted living institutions, nursing homes and health clubs have them available. These guidelines will be heightened even further by the September 1, 2014 enactment of Janet’s Law. Named in honor of an 11-year-old school cheerleader from Warren, NJ who died in 2006 from sudden cardiac arrest, the law requires the state’s public and private schools to have AEDs readily available at youth athletic events.
Emergency caregivers also are protected; in May 2012, New Jersey enhanced its standing Good Samaritan legislation – a law passed to protect individuals using AEDs in emergency situations from civil liability – by extending protection to untrained users.
